About Njoro Constituency
Njoro Constituency is one of the constituencies in Nakuru County, is a station on the meter gauge railway line between Nakuru and Kisumu. It has a population of approximately 208,300 people and covers 713 Sq.Km. the town is home to the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and Egerton University. It’s situated 5km south from the town center and is near the Mau Forest, which has become a global issue on environment.
The main economic activities is agro-based industries including vegetable and milk processing, large scale wheat and barley farming. Light manufacturing industries such as timber milling, canning and quarrying are also a mainstay of the local economy. The economic growth of the town has been hastened due to its proximity to the constituency capital, Nakuru.
Njoro is a cosmopolitan area which has continued to attract immigration from outlying counties specifically due to its relative peace and rich agricultural potential
